Delhi Govt. clarifies

Staff Reporter

NEW DELHI: The Delhi Government on Tuesday clarified that it had not recommended a better pay package for members of the Delhi Legislative Assembly.

It said the Delhi Cabinet on Monday had only decided to refer an amendment to the Delhi MLAs’ (Salaries, Allowances, Pension etc.) Act, 1994, to the Union Government for its concurrence. The move would enable the MLAs to receive any other pension such as Swatantrata, Sainik Samman Pension in addition to the pension admissible under the Act.
