JAIPUR: The Rajasthan State Election Commission on Tuesday decided to hold by-elections to the vacant posts in the Panchayati Raj institutions as well as in 13 Municipal Council wards next month. The model code of conduct came into force with immediate effect in the panchayat and municipal areas concerned. According to an official release here, by-elections would be held for one Pradhan, 17 Panchayat Samiti members, 62 Sarpanches, 34 Deputy Sarpanches and 329 Ward Panches. Polling will take place on August 9.
