KADAPA: District Collector M.T. Krishna Babu expressed ire at irrigation officials of the district executing Mylavaram canal modernisation works and ordered immediate replacement of 200 panels after noticing cracks in the north canal. The district Collector inspected the south and north canals of Mylavaram project, being modernised at Mylavaram in Jammalamadugu constituency for about three hours and enquired about the base contract, lining works and if the project gates were in order. Mr. Krishna Babu broke open a crack and pulled up officials asking them to maintain quality in the works. Thickness of the canals were less than specified by the Government at some places, he remarked. Officials under fire
The Collector expressed anger when the figures quoted by officials were divergent. Mr. Krishna Babu directed strict monitoring and quality in works.
