Kakinada: The special squad of the Labour Department headed by J Nageswerarao, assistant commissioner, during its raids conducted on various shops and establishments on Monday booked cases against managements of eights shops for engaging child labour.

The managements were also asked to admit the child labourers working with them in a school and produce the certificates to the department.

Since the minimum wages are not paid to the child labour, they were also asked to deposit the wages balance amount in national savings certificates in the name of the child labour.
