NEW DELHI: After a long gap, Delhi will host a major ranking badminton tournament, with Rs. 500,000 as prize-money, from 2 to 6 January, 2008. Announcing the calendar of events, the Delhi Badminton Association secretary S.P. Singh said on Monday that the Capital would also hold the North Zone inter-State championship from September 27 to 30 at the Karnail Singh Stadium. The calendar: Delhi State championship (July 27 to 31); J. D. Tytler memorial tournament (August 24 to 28); North Zone inter-state (September 27 to 30); Pramod Mahajan memorial tournament (October 27 to 30); Punjabi Bagh Club tournamen t (November 25 to 30); Senior Prize-money tournament (January 2 to 6, 2008).
