NEW DELHI: Junior cricket is set to receive a boost in the country with the premier National Under-17 tournament spreading to eight centres and 14 cities. Glaxo Smithkline will sponsor the event beginning in Bangalore on July 30. The ‘Boost Cricket Cup’ will be played at eight centres, Bangalore, Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Hyderabad, Baroda, Delhi, Punjab and Mumbai. The tournament will begin with intra-city challenge and culminate in the all-India inter-city championship for the Champion cricket school of India. The winner and runner-up of the all-India champion will earn Rs. 22,500 and Rs. 15,000 respectively, while the winner and runner-up of the intra-city challenge stand to gain Rs. 15,000 and Rs. 9,000 respectively. — Principal Correspondent
