DAVANGERE: State Bank of India (SBI) will soon issue combo cards to students of Visvesvarya Technological University (VTU) and other universities and institutions in the State, said Mahapar Ali, Chief General Manager of SBI. They could not only be used as library and identity cards, but also to access ATMs. Students need not have to carry other cards for academic purposes. Addressing presspersons here recently, Ms. Mahapar Ali claimed that combo cards of SBI were successful in Manipal Academy of Higher Education and there had been a great demand for such cards from other universities and institutions in the State. The bank was making efforts to issue such cards keeping in mind the interests of students, she added. Referring to the services offered by the bank, she said that it had set up special centres to process housing, vehicle and industrial loans quickly.
