CPI(M) members stage demonstration

PUDUKOTTAI: Members of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) staged a demonstration near the Old Bus Stand here on Tuesday. They sought the release of 42 Dalits of Tranquebar who had been lodged in the Central Prison, Tiruchi. The district secretary of the party, M. Chinnadurai, alleged that although the Dalits were demanding ‘pattas’ for their land, the police registered a “false case” against them and arrested them.
