Three sentenced to life imprisonment
NEW DELHI: A court here on Tuesday sentenced three persons to rigorous life imprisonment after convicting them of killing a man and then throwing his body into a drain in 2001. Two of them have also been convicted for destruction of evidence.
While arguing over the quantum of sentence, Senior Additional Prosecutor Masood Ahmed had prayed to the court for a harsh sentence. Agreeing with his contention, the court sentenced the convicts for life.
According to the prosecution, one Shiv Prasad had killed Bhura Singh, a resident of Gokulpuri in North-East Delhi, on the suspicion that he was having an affair with his wife in 2001.
After the murder, Shiv Prasad’s accomplices Hukum Chand and Chandra Pal disposed of the body in a drain from where it was later recovered by the police.
