HYDERABAD: The State Human Rights Commission (SHRC) on Tuesday ordered the management of New Science College, Ameerpet, and senior officials of education and finance departments to ensure that the salaries of the college staff were paid in time every month. In case of the salaries not being paid on time, the officials concerned from higher education and finance department will have to pay a compensation of Rs.100 per day, the commission ordered here in a case filed by the staff of the private aided institution. Directive to principal
The principal and correspondent of the college were directed to forward the salary bills in time to the departments concerned for perusal and officials were also asked to process them in given time-frame. Two faculty members pleaded that they were on the verge of retirement but their pensions papers were not processed. Justice Reddy also said there should be no disparity between the staff of the Government and aided college. “They should be treated equally,” he said.
