BANGALORE: The videographer, who recorded the recovery of the slain BPO staffer Pratibha Murthy’s body, deposed before the court hearing the case on Tuesday. Gopalakrishna C. submitted before the 7th Fast Track Session Court Judge that the Kumaraswamy Layout police called his friend Prahlad and him to accompany a team to Anjanapura on December 16, 2005. The police wanted him to videograph the visit, while his friend Prahlad was asked to take photographs. He recorded the recovery of Pratibha’s body and the related police process for nearly six hours. He also accompanied the police to a garage where they discovered the diary and the two ATM cards used by her. On December 17, he accompanied police to the house of Renukappa, owner of the cab driven by the accused Shivakumar. The vehicle in which Pratibha travelled was found near Renukappa’s house, he said. Mr. Gopalakrishna said the police took him to the shop where Shivakumar purchased the knife allegedly used for the murder. He recorded the police visit to two places where Shivakumar said he had thrown Pratibha’s mobile phone. The police could not find the phone, he said.
