CHENNAI: Contract workers of the Central Organisation of Tamil Nadu Electricity Employees (COTEE) will hold demonstrations before State EB offices on July 26 to highlight various demands of the engineers.
The general council meeting of the COTEE decided to launch an indefinite strike from September 21, demanding that the TNEB fill vacancies by regularising the services of the 23,000-odd contract workers. A seminar would be held in Chennai on October 13 to highlight the achievements of the TNEB, as part of the unit’s golden jubilee celebrations. The COTEE would stage a dharna on September 7 calling for initiating talks on wage revision.
