RAMANATHAPURAM: Minister for School Education Thangam Thennarasu has ruled out the possibility of conducting fresh counselling for transfer of elementary school teachers.
Speaking to reporters after participating at a school reorganisation conference here on Tuesday, he said re-counselling would be held whenever there were specific complaints.
It was not correct to demand re-counselling across the State following a few complaints in some areas. The Government would conduct the remaining part of the counselling based on norms.
Denying irregularities, Mr. Thennarasu said it was conducted in a transparent manner, and without any political interference.
However, the Department had received some complaints. The Directorate of Elementary Education had stopped the exercise wherever there were specific complaints.
“The Government is committed to completing the process efficiently,” he said.
The State Government planned to create additional facilities to carry out repairs to all panchayat union schools at a cost of Rs.135 crore. All panchayat union schools would get a sizeable amount.
Mr. Thennarasu said the Directorate of School Education had started the process of filling the vacancies of headmasters. The order for filling the 514 vacancies would be issued shortly.
