Prakash, Bopanna improve their rankings

NEW DELHI: Rohan Bopanna jumped 20 places and was ranked at 213, with 185 ATP points in the latest list released on Tuesday.

A consistent fare in the Challenger circuit in recent weeks has helped Bopanna comfortably cross his career-best rank of 230.

In doubles too, Bopanna reached his career-best rank of 105 with 468 ATP points.

Prakash Amritraj also broke into the top-300, jumping 59 spots to be placed at 276 with 132 ATP points.

Karan Rastogi, who is ranked at 343, failed to enter the qualifying event of the US Open as he lost 1-6, 4-6 to seventh seed Brendan Evans of the US in the first round of the Challenger at Lexington on Monday.
