HYDERABAD: Vedula Satyanarayana, a senior official of a subsidiary of Satyam Computers, who was kidnapped by four car-borne persons in Secunderabad on Tuesday, was rescued in the Nekonda village in Warangal district later in the night. Four persons were reportedly taken in to custody. No ransom call was received till late in the night. Earlier, Mr. Satyanarayana (40) of East Marredpally dropped his daughters at school. He asked his driver to park the vehicle and wait for him. When he came out of the school, the abductors bundled him into their vehicle and sped away, police said quoting the complaint. His mobile phone was switched off when his wife tried to call him. When she called up the driver, he expressed ignorance. At 9.40 a.m., Mr. Satyanarayana responded to his wife’s call and told her that he was at a meeting. “That was the last call. Since then there has been no response from him,” his family members had told police. He reportedly hinted to his wife, during the conversation, that he had been kidnapped. She approached the police. The police said efforts were on to trace the kidnappers.
