Woman poisons self, two children to death

BANGALORE: A woman poisoned her two children to death and committed suicide by taking poison at her house in Anekal police station limits on Monday.

The police gave her name as Prema (26), wife of construction worker Srinivasa and a resident of Nayaranapura village. Her children were identified as Monica (7), a Class 1 student, and Satya (3). The incident came to light on Monday night when Srinivasa returned home from work. The police suspect that Prema had taken the extreme step because of financial problems.

Chain snatched

Two youths on a motorcycle snatched a gold chain worth Rs. 50,000 from Indira in Channamanakere Achukattu police station limits on Tuesday. The police said the duo snatched the chain from Indira was while she was walking near Banagirinagar in 2nd Stage, Banashankari around 6.30 a.m.

Two killed

Kalidas (50) of Ulsoor was killed in a hit-and-run case reported from Indiranagar traffic police station limits on Monday night.The police said that around 10 p.m. a vehicle knocked down Kalidas while he was crossing Old Madras Road, opposite the BMTC depot. In another incident, Kishore (30) was killed after a lorry hit his motorcycle in Peenya traffic police station limits on Monday.

Recovered

The Seshadripuram police have arrested Kiran Raj (18) of Rajajinagar on charges of burglary and recovered from him gold ornaments
