KOLAR: The District Consumer Redressal Forum has ordered BEML Medical Centre, Kolar Gold Fields, to pay a compensation of Rs 3.5 lakh to Jyothy, wife of V. Subramani who died due to alleged negligence of the hospital. Subramani, a BGML employee, was admitted to the hospital for some ailment where he was given B+ blood. While his condition deteriorated, he was taken to Devaraj Urs Medical College Hospital in Kolar where his blood group was detected as O+. Following Subramani’s death in January 2001, Ms. Jyothy lodged a complaint holding the centre responsible for her husband’s death.
