St. Patrick’s students top competitions

PUDUCHERRY: Kaavya Ramkumar of Standard XI of St. Patrick Matriculation Higher Secondary School secured the second place in Puducherry in the RANK (Race for Awareness and Knowledge) award, jointly organised by Air India Limited, The Hind u, Dinamalar and Air India Limited. The award is given in recognition of excellence outside the field of academics.

According to a press release here from the school, their students won various prizes as part of the Students’ Day competitions conducted by the Directorate of School Education at the regional level. In the colouring competition P. Abishek of Standard IV won the first prize, in the Tamil essay writing competition D.M. Premalatha of Standard XI came first, A. Archana of Standard VII and A.R. Pranavi of Standard IX won the second prizes.

The following students secured the first place in their respective categories in the athletics and games events at the regional level sports championship conducted by the Directorate of School Education. In the under 14 category Sridevi of Standard IX secured the first place in the athletics event, S. Swathikha of Standard IX came first in badminton. In the under 17 category Avanti Ashok Badha of Standard XI secured the first place in athletics and badminton; and in the under 19 category Sudharsana Rangam of Standard XII came first in the table tennis match.
