KANNUR: The North Malabar Railway Users’ Forum (NMRUF) has urged the Railway authorities to run two special trains along the Kannur-Thiruvananthapuram route during the Onam season. In a representation to the Southern Railway General Manager, NMRUF general secretary P. Natarajan said two special trains be introduced in the route to meet the increase in passenger traffic during Onam. The forum demanded that the authorities attach two more unreserved coaches in the West Coast Express (6627/ 6628) and the Chennai Superfast Express (2601 /2602 ) from August 15 to September 10 to cater to the passengers travelling to Chennai.
