Booth-level officers’ training held

MAHE: A training programme for booth-level officers of the Mahe and Palloor Assembly constituencies here was conducted at the office of the Regional Administrator-cum-Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) here.

Booth-level officers were appointed as per the direction of the Election Commission. A press release issued by ERO K. Suryanarayanamurthy here on Wednesday said the officers would function as custodians of the electoral rolls of the polling booth assigned to them. They would conduct field inquiries in respect of inclusion of names, objections, corrections and transposition either during the revision process or during the continuous updating process.

They would also guide the public to submit claims and objections, he said.

M. Dinesh, Special Officer, Revenue Department, Puducherry, imparted the training.
