Cops sentenced for taking bribe
New Delhi: A city court has remanded an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) and a constable of Delhi Police, arrested by the CBI for allegedly taking a bribe from the complainant, to 14 days’ judicial custody.
Special Judge S. K. Kaushik remanded ASI Rajender Singh (45) and constable Jai Singh (39), of Sultanpuri Police station, to judicial custody till August 8, as the case was at a “preliminary stage of investigation.”
The Anti-Corruption Branch (ACB) sleuths of the agency arrested the accused duo Rajender Singh and Jai Singh for allegedly accepting the illegal gratification of Rs 5,000 from Balak Ram for not implicating him in an altercation.
