Kozhikode: The Bharatiya Janata Party has demanded a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the hawala operations in the State. Addressing a news conference here on Wednesday State BJP president P.K. Krishnadas also sought the Left Democratic Front (LDF) Government to come out with a white paper on the police investigations into the numerous hawala cases in the last five years. He said the Minister for Home Kodiyeri Balakrishnan should reveal the names of political party leaders and organisations involved in hawala dealings in the context of the statement given by one of the kingpins arrested in Malappuram district a couple of days ago. The report of the Marad Judicial Inquiry Commission had pointed out that hawala money had been pumped in for killing nine fishermen at the seaside village of Kozhikode. Mr. Krishnandas said that his party would stage a demonstration in all district headquarters on August 14 “against the mafia links of the LDF Government”.
