Adulterated toddy seized

HYDERABAD: The State Task Force team of Prohibition and Excise on Wednesday conducted a raid on the toddy depot at Bijinepalli in Mahabubnagar district and seized a lorry carrying 741 litres of adulterated toddy with chloral hydrate.

According to K.V. Rajendranath Reddy, Director of Enforcement, Prohibition and Excise, the team members also confiscated 10 vats containing 4,550 litres of adulterated toddy among other things and arrested five persons. Five others were absconding, Mr. Reddy said in a press release. The Bijnepalli Toddy Cooperative Society would be immediately closed.
