Dance festival from tomorrow

TIRUPUR: Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Sabha is organising a three-day dance

festival, ‘Konjum Salangai,’ at the air-conditioned auditorium Velamudhaswamy Mandapam, on the Dharapuram Road here from Friday (July 27).

Leading Bharathanatyam artiste Shobana Ramesh will perform on the inaugural day. On Saturday, Vadivu and party of Padmashree Natyaalaya, Tanjavur will feature a dance drama on Silappathikaram. The festival will conclude on Sunday with a Bharathanatyam performance by Swarnamalya and party.

According to Auditor T.R. Ramanathan, secretary of the sabha, they are organising the festival first of its kind in Tirupur. Entry is free for all programmes.
