Kalam arrives in Chennai

WARM WELCOME: Former President A.P.J.Abdul Kalam waving to the crowd soon after his landing at the Chennai airport on Wednesday.

CHENNAI: The ‘Embraer’ aircraft carrying the former President A.P.J.Abdul Kalam touched down at the Chennai airport at 9.10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Finance Minister K.Anbazhagan presented a shawl to the former President.

Following a request from mediapersons, Mr. Kalam came closer to the enclosure where they were waiting.

Labour Minister T.M.Anbarasan, Chief Secretary L.K.Tripathy, Director-General of Police D. Mukherjee, Mayor M. Subramanian, Commissioner of Police Letika Saran, Chennai Collector R. Jaya and Anna University Vice-Chancellor V.Viswanathan received the former President.
