NEW DELHI: Sony on Wednesday unveiled a range of its ‘Vaio’ laptops with features that would help the company target the youth and double its share in notebooks market. “We are targeting a sale of 60,000 units in the current financial year and a market share of 10 per cent in retail sales of laptops driven by the campaign which we have launched to promote the new ‘Vaio’ range among youth of India,” Sony India Managing Director Masaru Tamagawa said while interacting with the media here on the occasion of the launch of the new colourful offerings. He exuded confidence that though Sony enjoyed around 5.6 per cent share of the retail notepad sales, it would be able to double it following an aggressive two-month promotional campaign. The new CR range of ‘Vaio’ notepads, featuring different colours and designs, is priced between Rs. 54,990 and Rs. 64,990. The company is also offering zero per cent financing scheme. Sony India IT Sales and Marketing Head Sachin Thapar said the company had earlier announced a sales target of $2 billion for this year, of which 11 per cent was expected to come from sales of the ‘Vaio’ range.
