NEW DELHI: Prakash Amritraj knocked out the sixth-seeded Nicolas Toure of France 6-2, 6-3 in the first round of the $50,000 Challenger tennis tournament at Granby, Canada. He will meet qualifier Milan Pokrajac of Canada in the pre-quarterfinals. In the $25,000 Challenger on grass at Nottingham, sixth seed Rohan Bopanna outplayed wild card David Rice of Britain 6-4, 6-1 in the first round. Bopanna and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi of Pakistan made the doubles quarterfinals with a 7-6(4), 6-2 win over Xavier Audouy of France and Simon Rea of New Zealand in the first round. Other results: Doubles (pre-quarterfinals): Brydan Klein (Aus) and Purav Raja bt Joshua Milton and David Rice (GBR) 7-5, 6-2; Joshua Goodall (GBR) and Mustafa Ghouse bt Guillero Alcaide (Esp) and Samuel Groth (Aus) 5 -7, 7-6(5), 10-5.
