LUCKNOW: Underworld don Ejaz Lakdawala, currently operating from Australia and New Zealand, planned to eliminate film director Raj Kumar Santoshi and music composer Himesh Reshammiya. This was revealed by one of his sharpshooters, Anis Radiowala, arrested along with three other hit men by the Special Task Force (STF) of the Uttar Pradesh police at Dewa near Barabanki, about 22 km from here on Wednesday. The three others were Namdev, Mohammad Rahim Khan and Ishrat Warsi from Maharashtra. Home Secretary Mahesh Gupta told newspersons that during interrogation, Anis disclosed that he had been sent by Lakdawala to Lucknow for procuring weapons, which were to be used to kill Mr. Santoshi and Mr. Reshammiya. He revealed that earlier, the plan was to send one of their men as a contestant in the music contest, ‘Sa re ga ma’ being aired on a TV channel, to kill Mr. Reshammiya, who is one of the judges. But, the plan flopped as the man failed to make it to the contest.
