State accused of failure to resume assigned lands

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: BJP State president B. Dattatreya has accused the State Government of failure to resume 44 lakh acres of assigned land and on the other hand allotting 4.80 lakh acres to bigwigs, real estate sharks and IT companies in Ranga Reddy, Medak, Nalgonda and Mahbubnagar districts.

Addressing participants in a procession that culminated in a public meeting at Indira Park here, Mr. Dattatreya demanded implementation of recommendations made by Koneru Ranga Rao committee for distribution of land. The BJP would publicise encroachments on lands and benami land holders, he said.

BJP State secretary K. Laxman said the Rajiv Gruhakalpa scheme of Government flopped as none of the beneficiaries were allotted houses. He warned of a major agitation by the party on land related problems in coming months.
