Talks on to start helicopter services

PUDUCHERRY: The territorial administration is negotiating with Pawan Hans Ltd to start helicopter services in the Chennai-Puducherry-Karaikal sectors.

“We have agreed in principle and further details, including the fare, are being worked out,” said L. Mohammed Mansoor, Director, Tourism.

Mr. Mansoor said the Government proposed to use Pawan Hans services for a joy ride for tourists, he told The Hindu on the sidelines of a conference organised by the Tourism Department here on Thursday.

Subash Dama, Regional Director, Government of India (Tourist Office), Chennai, said the Union Government had reworked its incentive package offered to industries for setting up hotels to increase the room capacity across the country.
