VTU cautions colleges

Staff Correspondent

Belgaum: Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) has warned that it will take “serious” note if affiliated colleges fail to observe the schedule on the start of first semester undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

According to the schedule, the courses have to start from September 3.

The VTU observed that some colleges were advancing the start of the term.

The university had fixed the term on the basis of the casual vacancy round of counselling. If the commencement of the term was advanced, justice could not be made to candidates to make a choice of college/course of their interest, the VTU Registrar M.S. Shivakumar pointed out.

“Any violation of the above instructions shall be viewed seriously by the university. VTU shall on its own or on receipt of specific complaints from those affected take all such steps as may be necessary to enforce these directions,” he said in a release here on Wednesday.
