Durga Prasad hits century

CHENNAI: T.K. Durga Prasad made 109 not out as UFCC (T. Nagar) defeated Southern Railway SA by four wickets in a TNCA division II match here recently.

The scores:

Div. II: Southern Railway SA 191 for nine in 50 overs (P. Hariraj 46, Rohan Prem 42) lost to UFCC (T. Nagar) 192 for six in 49 overs (T.K. Durga Prasad 109 not out, Dinesh 50).

Div. V ‘A’: Gandhi CC 122 in 22.2 overs (J. Kumaran 48, S. Venkatesan six for 15) lost to Indian Airlines 123 for five in 23.4 overs.

ICI S&RC 107 in 38.3 overs lost to MRC `A’ 108 for four in 27 overs.
Vidya Mandir triumphs

Vidya Mandir (Mylapore) defeated St. John’s (Besant Nagar) by five wickets in the Dr. Rajakumar memorial invitation cricket tournament for CBSE schools here recently.

Atulya Mishra, Member Secretary, SDAT, gave away the prizes.

Special Awards: Player of the final: Akshay Srinivasan (Vidya Mandir, Mylapore); Player of the Series: P.R. Silverster Jayan (St. John’s, Besant Nagar); Best Batsman: Chava Pranav (St. John’s, Mandaveli); Best all-rounder: Akshay Srinivasan.

The scores (final):

St. John’s (Besant Nagar) 97 for nine in 25 overs (P.R. Silverster Jayan 27, Akshay Srinivasan three for 15) lost to Vidya Mandir, Mylapore 98 for five in 23.5 overs (Akshay Srinivasan 32).
