Vacant doctors posts in Kargil to be filled

SRINAGAR: Vacant posts of doctors in Kargil district would be filled soon, Jammu and Kashmir Health and Medical Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma said on Tuesday.

Posts would be filled on a contractual basis and the district development commissioner would be authorised to look after the appointments, said Mr. Sharma.

The Minister was interacting with an all-party deputation from Kargil led by Sheikh Ahmad Mehmoodi, president of Anjuman-e-Jamiet-ul-Ulema.

The delegation demanded filling of vacant posts of doctors and other paramedical staff, promotion of doctors on seniority basis, and replacement of ambulances, officials said.

Another deputation from Rajouri district met the health minister and apprised him of their demands, which include early execution of a trauma centre in the district, block status to Dangri, and financial assistance to the flood-effected people. — PTI
