Coimbatore: The third round of the JK Tyre Rotax Max karting challenge will be held at the Kari Motor Speedway circuit at Chettipalayam near here on July 28. It’s going to be an open contest in both the senior and junior categories with the top three being separated by a thin margin. At the end of the second round, Ameya Walavalkar of Mumbai is atop the leader board in the senior class with 171 points. Trailing him by just a point is Chennai’s Aditya Patel. Rayomand Banajee of Pune is close on his heels with 167 points. Kolhapur youngsters Chittesh Mandody (85.5 points) and Parth Ghorpade (83 points) lead the junior table followed by Chennai’s Vishnu Prasad in the third spot with 82 points. The qualifying sessions will be held on Saturday followed by the main races the next day.
