JJ, Jayaram in final

TIRUCHI: JJ CET and Jayaram CET have entered the final of the Anna University inter-collegiate (zone-VIII) cricket tournament winning their respective semifinal encounters against Saranathan EC and AVC EC here.

The scores: Semifinals: AVC 148 for six in 30 overs lost to Jayaram 151 for five in 28.2 overs (Vimal 45).

Saranathan 148 for five in 30 overs (Musthan Khader 49) lost to JJ 152 for five in 27.5 overs (Idrish 42).

State championship

Over 350 skaters from 15 districts will be participating in the State roller skating championship to be conducted by the Tiruchi District Roller Skating Sports Association from July 27 to 29 in Tiruchi. Ring race, roller hockey, artistic will be conducted at the Campion Anglo Indian HSS, while the road race will be held near Tiruchi junction on Sunday. The event will be conducted in under-6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and above 16 age categories.

District selection

The Pudukottai District Chess Association will conduct district selection chess tournament at the Government High School, Rajagopalapuram in Pudukottai on July 29.
