St. Joseph’s Indian High School scored a thumping 10-0 victory over Ryan International School in the Allan MacBride memorial inter-school hockey tournament for boys under -12 here on Thursday.

Mohammed Raheel (4th, 6th, 19th & 24th) was the top scorer while Britto (5th & 14th) and Krishna Shetty (7th & 26th) slotted two apiece. T.D. Abhishek (12th) and Toban Xavier (18th) also scored.

In the Tanvi Rao memorial tournament for girls under-10th Standard, St. Francis Xavier’s ‘B’ and Bishop Cotton’s ‘B’ played out a goalless draw.

The fixture between the ‘A’ teams of the same school however turned out to be an unpleasant one. St. Francis’ Xavier’s coach Leo Francis forced his girls off the field in a protest against an umpiring decision. Apparently the girls from St. Francis Xavier were ready to continue the match, but were not allowed to do so.

The technical committee awarded the match to Bishop Cotton’s ‘A’.
