Sexual assault charge against yoga teacher

BHUBANESWAR: The city police on Thursday arrested a yoga guru on the charge of ‘sexually exploiting’ a girl by blackmailing her.

The accused, Aswini Das, was a teacher in Rabi Shankar Vidaya Mandir in Nayapalli area of the city.

A homoeopathy doctor lodged a complaint that Das had initiated sexual relationship by drugging her.

Later, he had taken nude her pictures, she alleged. “The yoga guru is accused of blackmailing the girl for the past three years. The girl alleged that Das forcibly kept her away from her parents. He even conspired to scuttle all her marriage proposals,” Inspector-in-Charge of Mahila Police Station Bilasini Nayak said.
