KOCHI: LG Electronics, one of the well known brands, have rope in popular film stars Prithviraj and Mamta as brand ambassadors to woo Keralites during the forthcoming Onam festival. Announcing this here on Tuesday, LG Electronics India Private Limited representatives said the company would launch road shows and service on wheels campaign as part of the festival offers. Girish V.Rao, vice-president, Sales, of the company, said Kochi and Thrissur topped the list among cities in Kerala where the sales of electronics items were soaring. The company had sold more than 1.4 lakh television sets last year in the State. The figure is expected to increase by more than 30 per cent this year. A sizeble number of transactions are expected to take place during the festival season. About 60 lakh consumers in Kerala own LG products. The company has introduced two new LCD television models for the festival season. Mr.Rao said there has been 300 per cent growth in LCD and plasma television segments. The company is hoping for a sale of 1,75,000 units in the festive season. The total sales turnover target is pegged at Rs.150 crores for the season in Kerala.
