Godrej targets Rs. 70 cr. sales during Onam

KOCHI: Godrej Appliances plans to open two manufacturing facilities at Mohali and Shiruvel near Pune at a cost of Rs. 50 crore each to augmen the production of home appliances.

The company plans to make a sales turnover of Rs. 70 crore from Kerala during the Onam season, company’s COO Mr. George Menezes and vice-president (sales) Mr. Kamal Nandi told reporters here today.

During the first quarter of this fiscal year, Godrej Appliances clocked sales worth Rs.290 crore, which is a growth of 46 per cent. The company plans to achieve a sales turnover of Rs. 1,000 crore by end of the current fiscal, they said.

They added that the appliances division contributed 30 per cent of the total turnover of the parent company. The company plans to give special focus to EON brand refrigerators, split air-conditioners, and microwave ovens in the Kerala market during the current season.

Godrej will soon introduce washing machines and home theatre systems under the EON brand, they said.
