Field Day at Gandarvakottai

PUDUKOTTAI: Under the auspices of the Agriculture Department, Field Day was celebrated at Sozhahampatti near Gandarvakottai on Wednesday. Farmers were taken to ‘amla’ fields and exposed to crop protection methods. Assistant Director of Agriculture K. Krishnamurthy explained the viability of growing ‘amla.’ He advised farmers to conduct soil test for achieving higher yield and desist from using excess fertilisers to avoid adverse impact on nutrients, texture and other bio-contents of the soil.
