BIDAR: Bidar Zilla Panchayat has initiated action against two officials in charge of the midday meal programme on charges of misuse of funds. Bidar Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Jitendra Nayak has suspended first grade assistant Amba Das and an auditor Balappa Lamani. He has recommended action against the Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer Obaiah Bangalore and assistant programme director Nivratti Jadhva. A preliminary inquiry revealed that they misused Rs. 3.85 lakh by forging nearly eight cheques, said a release. — Staff Correspondent
