Memo to health centre doctor for late coming

Kakinada: Irked by the late arrival of M. Ravi, a duty doctor in Primary Health Centre at Pedapudi, Collector M Subrahmanyam has announced that he would be issuing a memo to him. He also warned that stern action would be initiated against those irregular to duties. During his surprise inspection of the primary health centre on Friday, the Collector had verified the records on the attendance of duty doctors and nurses and inspected the drugs stock register.

He also made discrete inquiries with the patients on the treatment being rendered. The Collector expressed displeasure when the doctors said that they were residing at Kakinada instead of Pedapudi.

The Collector made it clear that under the rules they should reside at the place of work and failure to comply with the orders would attract disciplinary action. He said surprise inspections would be continued and suitable action would be initiated against the erring. The Collector said two nurses working in Peddapuram community health centre, P. Venkata Ramanamma and P.Suryakumari, were placed under suspension for collecting money from patients. The charge against them was proved in the departmental enquiry conducted by the additional DMHO. Basing on the enquiry report the DMHO already issued suspension orders.
