Nagercoil: Mysterious fever has claimed four lives in Kanyakumari district within a week. Kamalam (54) of Payanam Thunduvilai near Marthandam was affected with a mysterious fever last week and admitted to private hospital. She died on Friday. Pannerselvam (12) of Boothapandi, Murugan (59) of Keeripparai and a woman from Kulasekaramputhur, whose name is yet to be ascertained by the Health Department, died of the fever. Patients with this fever symptom are standing in long queues in Government Hospitals as well as private hospitals. Hence, a cross section of the people here urged the Health Department to contain this fever, as they could not go for work for a long time.
