Goa crisis

Goa has become synonymous with political instability. Rather than focussing on the ideological commitment, or the lack of it, among MLAs, the need of the hour is to find ways to plug the loopholes that are endemic to the political system. It is quite common in Goa to see elected representatives resigning from the Assembly and re-contesting to get around the anti-defection law. The real loser is the spirit of democracy.

Koshy Tharakan,
Taleigao, Goa

Opportunistic politics is at its best and the people’s representatives are making a mockery of democracy.

Inamdar Ramchandra,

Bangalore
