Maninder Singh Kohli’s petition dismissed
Staff Reporter
NEW DELHI: The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed a petition by Maninder Singh Kohli seeking review of the judgment here for extraditing him to the United Kingdom to face trial in the Hannah Foster murder case.
Dismissing the petition, a Division Bench comprising Justice Mukul Mudgal and Justice P.K. Bhasin said: “The petition is dismissed as it lacks merit.” Kohli through his lawyer Charanjit Singh Bakshi had sought quashing of the Extradition Enquiry Report passed by Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kamini Lau directing the Union Government to hand him over to the Scotland Yard.
In her report, Ms. Lau said a prima facie case for extradition of Kohli to the U.K. was made out because there was sufficient material on record against him.
She relied on forensic, medical and photographic evidence submitted by the British police before the court.
