TVS Motor posts lower profits

CHENNAI: TVS Motor Company has reported a total revenue of Rs. 801.56 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2007, against Rs. 939.62 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year. The profit before tax stood at Rs. 10.90 crore against Rs. 30.14 crore and the profit after tax at Rs. 7.55 crore against Rs. 21.26 crore.The profits were lower due to high cost of raw materials, which impacted the margins substantially, says a release.
