Tata Chemicals posts 54 p.c. rise in net profit
MUMBAI: Tata Chemicals has announced a 54 per cent growth in its net profit for the first quarter of 2007-08 at Rs. 137 crore (Rs. 89 crore) on marginally lower revenues of Rs. 1,134 crore (Rs. 1,211 crore). The figures on a consolidated basis include that of the company’s overseas subsidiaries, the Brunner Mond Group, acquired in December 2005 and the one-third stake acquisition in Indo Maroc Phosphore S.A. The profit from operations were up 16 per cent at Rs. 260 crore (Rs. 224 crore) and the profit before tax was up 52 per cent at Rs. 196 crore (Rs. 129 crore).
