‘Kalyanamastu’ date extended

125 applications received till now

Kakinada: The last date for receiving applications for the` Kalyanamastu’programme launched by the TTD has been extended till August 15, according to L. Padmanabha Prasad, district incharge officer.

He said already 125 applications for performing free marriages were received of which 116 were forwarded after preliminary scrutiny to the central committee at Tirumala for approval.

In the last year’s programme, he said, highest number of 122 applications was received from Seethapalli in Yellavaram constituency. Mr. Prasad said that this time two mangalasutras would be provided by the TTD and food would be served to marriage party irrespective of the number but only on advance intimation.

The Kalyanamastu venue was Bhimesweraswamy temple in Draksharama in Ramachandrapuram constituency and TTD Kalyana Mandapams in Mandal headquarters in Pithapuram and Alamuru constituencies.
