Commits suicide
An 18-year-old woman, who attempted suicide by setting herself ablaze at her house at Saidabad Colony on Monday, succumbed to injuries at Osmania General Hospital on Thursday. The police said N. Naga Laxmi took the drastic step following alleged harassment by her in-laws. She was married to Narsing three months ago.
Housewife ends life
A housewife ended her life by immolating herself at her residence at Santoshnagar on Thursday. Shamshed Begum (32) killed herself as she was unable to bear her husband Md. Shamshuddin’s torture suspecting her fidelity, according to the police.
Woman robbed of gold
A woman, with the help of two men, robbed another old woman of 390 grams of gold jewellery and Rs. 1 lakh at Osmanghad of Malakpet on Thursday evening. The victim Annapoorna, 58, was alone in the house when the accused knocked at the doors introducing herself as marketing executive.
She requested the woman for water and barged in with the other two men. The trio beat up the old woman and took away the gold and cash.
