“Government trampling on freedom of expression”

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: General secretary of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Jayalalithaa on Friday accused the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam Government of trampling on freedom of expression.

In a statement here, she criticised the Government for arresting AIADMK’s platform speaker ‘Nethiadi’ Nagaiyan who addressed a public meeting in Vilathikulam in Tuticorin district on July 20.

The AIADMK’s platform speakers had every right to highlight the omissions as well as the commissions of the Government, Ms. Jayalalithaa said.
